Mel Wiggins Blog Re-Brand
I've had the chance to work with my friend Mel on some projects for the charity she works for, Freedom Acts. It's always a pleasure to work with somebody like Mel, who has an eye for appropriate solutions, supportive and trusting. Another opportunity came up last month to re-brand her popular blog. Here's what we whipped up...
I already loved the design of Mel's blog (left) - clean, simple and reflected the homemade-lifestyle-loveliness of what she writes about. I was keen to keep the essence of that but freshen things up.
Mel's logo is hand-lettered, which means we need to get curvy and turn the drawings in to a vector image which can be edited and scaled.
As with most of my branding work, I try to provide two or three concepts. From these we refine what we thinks works and doesn't. Here's a sneaky peak at one of the rejected (tear) concepts.
Mel's a great gal. She's a genuinely lovely person who is passionate and creative, so it's a joy to work with her. Her blog is a great read and looks really pretty after Ally of Supersimbo turned my branding work into a functioning website. Go check it out, and have a read at the Meet the Maker chat she had with me here.
